Worst Cars that Aggravate Pollution
The gases emitted by most cars today has been an identified mark in the world of growing concern for greenhouse gas. While we can do the preventive maintenance needed such as regular change oils and tune-ups, it remains that most cars these days have to be singled out. There are cars that simply contribute largely to pollution despite such efforts.
Here are the top car polluters from Yahoo Auto:
1. Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI
2. Jeep Grand Cherokee
3. Mercedes-Benz GL320 CDI
4. Mercedes ML320 CDI
5. R320 CDI
Not all of the ties on our list were avoidable, but to help break some of them we looked at each vehicle’s carbon footprint, which is the EPA’s way of quantifying other automotive emissions called greenhouse gases. These include carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and methane. Scientists believe greenhouse gases contribute to global warming.
The primary greenhouse gas is carbon dioxide, but nitrous oxide and methane are also part of the mix.
