ECO FRIENDLY DIY AGAIN

I just love this idea. Aside from keeping wine bottles in some stock up place, why not decorate it. This is also a wonderful idea for gift giving on special occasions.
All you need to do is get some left over gift wrappers or clothes and wrap it around the wine. For best accent place some ribbons.
Seashell Picture Box
This is a great way to store old jewelries and small letters. Not only does it remind you of memories but it slowly takes you to the ocean.
aterials:
Paper mache box
White glue (that dries clear)
Assorted sea shells
Cutable styrene
Photo
Pencil
Acrylic Paint: Metallic Champaign # 675
Artists Pigment: Portrait #422
White uniball gel roller pen
2″ bristle brush
- Sort the sea shells by their size and variety.
- Paint outside of box with metallic champagne acrylic paint with bristle brush. Paint all the way around the box and the top of the box. Let it dry.
- Rinse out the brush.
- Paint inside of box with portrait colored paint or any color that matches your decor. Let this dry completely. On the inside lid of the box you can write a memento (date, photo information, etc.).
- Put top on box and using a pencil lightly trace the tops edge on the side of your box . Do not glue shells above this line or your top will not close.
- Select and crop photo and styrene sheet to fit the size of your box top. Using small amount of craft glue that dries clear, attach picture and styrene to box top. Let this dry completely so that it will not slip around.
- Glue shells around picture to cover edges of styrene and photoNote: If you do not have a good selection of shells, craft stores have shells you can purchase.
- Continue decorating box with shells until you are happy with the appearance.Tip: On the sides, it may be necessary to allow shells to dry before attaching shells to each side.
- Fill with mementos and enjoy.
And there’s more at diynetwork.com.
Just this summer I went to not less than 5 beaches. Since I love the beach so much I decided to collect shells. Another tip, never try to throw your trash in to the ocean. More and more pollutions are created by us. Marine life is very crucial, so it’s best to cooperate and help.
My project only consist of seashells and an old circular aquarium.
