Eco babies and nursery!
If your parents to be or simply just changing around your babies bedroom you should know that their choice of furniture, bedding, clothing and overall room could expose their child to many chemicals, as there bodies are still growing and developing they are more vulnerable to environmental pollutants than you are. Give your newborn the best start possible by creating a healthy, pollutant free safe environment for their first years .
To start whats even more important than choosing your colors for the wall is buying some environmentally friendly paint that does not release organic compounds into the air , look out for paints made from the most natural ingredients possible such as buttermilk, beeswax, plants oil.
If you choose a carpet for the floor choose a non toxic one or even an area rug made from natural wool, hemp or even cotton. There counterparts can carry up to 120 toxins which would be very harmful so choose natural all the time when rug/carpet shopping!
When choosing pillows the best option is to get natural stuffing such as kapok, untreated wool, organic cotton or synthetic-free latex. This will sleep better with comfort and safety.
With all this as a proper start for an eco friendly bedroom for your baby you also need to get bedding of the same good quality as all the rest, be sure the mattress of the crib is non toxic, chemical free and made of the best natural fibers, it should also be un-dyed and of course unbleached.
Finally with these perfect surroundings you also need to make sure that your baby is breathing in clean air, an air filter will do just that also include a carbon monoxide detector, make sure the ones you choose are suitable for babies and possibly not noisy improving your babies quality of sleep.
