House Passes The Climate Bill Change
The House of Representatives last Friday passed a legislation that aims to cut down on industrial pollution said to be the cause of global warming.
The Climate Change Bill, which has been a priority for the Obama Administration won by a vote of 219-212 in favor of the Democrats. The legislation will now be seeking the approval of the Senators afterwards, where they hope to pass this bill after the summer.
The bill requires all US companies, especially oil refiners and manufacturers to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by as much as 17% by the year 2020. They are required to look into alternative energy sources.
Pollution permits will also not be issued or controlled, under the stipulations of this bill.
Says the president of the Environmental Defense Fund, Mr. Fredd Kupp: “This bill is the most important environmental and energy legislation in the history of our country.”
