Old TV Sets Piling Up, Where To Recycle?

30ewaste_600Because American households have switched to digital television among other things, the Electronics Waste Management In the United States report (PDF) by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has reported that around 99.1 Million TV sets could be piling up in many homes today. As this is the case, municipalities have  asked many manufacturers to set up a recycling program for electronics, in order to help curb this dilemma.

While the response to this so far has been really favorable for states that do have these rules in place, what about those that have yet to set up the program?

In 2007, some 27 million TV sets have actually been disposed. This detail comes from Take Back My TV which also says that only 18% of those is recycled.
