Beer Bottle Solar Heater
People love to drink after work, or on weekends. It’s no secret that a nice cold beer is something that many people look forward to.
But did you ever think you could make all those empty beer bottles you have just laying in your recycling bin a part of your home?
A Chinese peasant has made a solar water heater – using only beers bottles and hoses. Ma Yanjun, a farmer from the Qiqiao village in China, has created a great way to redefine recycling.
He has created his own rooftop solar-powered water heating system by using empty beer bottles.
By attaching 66 green beer bottles to his rooftop and using a series of hoses to supply water to the bottles, Ma has created a unique way for the sun to provide hot water for his home.
He even has enough hot water for all three members of his family to shower once a day.
According to an article which features Ma Yanjun,
“The beer bottles lie on a board in rows, all connected by hoses which allow cold water to flow through them and be heated by the sun.
“I invented this for my mother. I wanted her to shower at any time more comfortably,” says Ma Yanjun, a carpenter, of Qiqiao village, Shaanxi Province.
“A real solar water heater is too expensive to me, so I came up with the idea of making one on my own.
“I hope this invention can be promoted nationwide, and allow mothers in undeveloped rural areas to have a hot shower.”
Ma has now helped more than 20 families in the village to make and install their own beer bottle solar water-heaters.
He says he will build a public bathroom for the village using his invention when he has the money to buy enough beers.
Even I never thought about it. More and more people are helping the environment, take a stand and do you best to protect the environment.
