Dying “Green”
As many people are now so into “green living”, has anyone actually considered…how it is to die green? What I mean is — dying while still observing the importance of making use of sustainable materials. Well, I just learned that apparently, there are plenty of ways to do it. I bet you didn’t know this, huh?
The Natural Burial Company is one that makes coffins out of natural products. The coffins are guaranteed biodegradable and they ahve been tried and tested across the US, Canada and even the UK. Look at their products’ gallery and you will see there’s quite a number of options for caskets, coffins and such. They’re not actually bad looking.
Now if you don’t like those and would still want to be buried in a traditional looking casket, there is an option with the Eco Casket. It looks like any other coffin, except that it is made of sustainable materials. You can check for further details on their website. The company also does delivery.
The Center for Natural Burial, on the other hand, offers information on how to get the, well, greenest burial possible. This actually began in the UK and now there are centers in US, Canada and coming soon in Asia. According to the site: “A natural burial allows you to use your funeral as a conservation tool to create, restore and protect urban green spaces.”
Still another site that serves a host of information is The Natural Death Center, which actually is more centered around Europe.
