Motor Giant Remains on the Green Road!
AAA is the nations largest automobiles association currently having over 50 million members, every year the association publishes a large selection of travel guides based on the best properties including hotels and restaurants from all over Usa, Canada, Mexico and the caribbean. The big news however is that come 2010 the AAA has decided to add an Eco designation for travelers which will include only the best Eco-friendly properties and sustainable features that are around, great news for the Eco aware!
Only those diamond-rated and fully approved will be accepted and published. The association is currently working with different agencies to determine which of the approved hotels are also green certified.
Some of the agencies that will be consulted to help on the decision of the eco-hotels section include EnergyStar, Green Seal, Green Key and Green Globe. This is a real positive step forward that people can make a positive choice on their destination based on how it rates Eco wise and knowing that it would not even be featured in the list if it was not heavy on the green friendly scale.
This should really help and improve the popularity of people going to destinations, hotels and restaurants that are planet friendly which should send a message to the others yet to follow the trend that it really is the way to go nowadays more people are considering how their daily movements are effecting the earth and looking for ways that will do less damage, this is a good move to keep your beliefs while traveling the world.
