People are going green and so is the Queen. Queen Elizabeth II has decided to buy the largest windmill although the amount was not revealed. Funky fashion has given us the scoop with this information.

Its going to produce 10 megawatts when completed – that’s enough to replace the harmful effects of 724,000 tons of Carbon Dioxide over its life time that would otherwise be produced while trying to generate the same amount of power.

Its going to produce 10 megawatts when completed – that’s enough to replace the harmful effects of 724,000 tons of Carbon Dioxide over its life time that would otherwise be produced while trying to generate the same amount of power.

This compared to the usual measly 2 megawatts of power that commercial windmills produce. The wingspan of this behemoth is going to be equal to two soccer fields and it shall be 574 feet high. That’s almost 1.5 times the length of the Big Ben and more than 111 of Queens standing one on top of another – if you can imagine that.

To be built by Clipper Wind power of Carpentaria, Calif. ; the windmill shall be completed in 2012 and will be able to power 3700 average homes.

This has been done to establish a new industrial base of activity to advance the UK’s leadership in renewable energy.

Queen Elizabeth  II is going to be a sample for those who are thinking of going green. They should also follow her actions in terms of the environment. There will be approximately 3700 average homes that will power in 2012. More news at http://ecotalks.org.
