Not Just a Pretty Face Book
Author Stacey Malkan does an extensive research to come up with this scientifically based book that opens our eyes to the ugly side of the cosmetic industry via her book, Not Just A Pretty Face ($11.18).
Here she shows and explains various beauty products in the market today which are either safe and laden with toxic chemicals. Are you aware that some lipstick products may have lead in them, a toxic ingredient? Or that there is dioxane in those facial and body scrubs we women love to lather in our skin? Dioxane is said to cause cancer, infertility and birth defects, among other things.
The book takes a pretty scary jab at reality. But more than that it was written and published so that it would help us become more conscious of the products we buy.
