Universities turning in the right direction

If you or someone close to you is attending college then you might want to pass the following news on or recommend a positive step forward for your school as a new wave has hit three of the biggest named Universities in the USA, Santa Cruz, Berkeley and UCLA are finally going green! With statistics showing that over 2 thirds of applicants taking Eco-Friendly in account when choosing the college of their choice now 3 of the best have beaten competition and made it easier to decide.

Santa Cruz contains a rather unique transportation system which includes amazing bike shuttles that can transport up to 300 people with their bikes to college everyday.

UCLA contains some very popular waste management practices, for a start it has biodegradable eating utensils and recycles water from the air conditioning. The college also has natural gas-fired plants which provides for over 70% of the school electricity and 100% of its heating and cooling. All of the above make this a unique Eco college.

Berkeley also keeps in line with its Green Friendly practices including certified organic salad bars and solar panels. The plan is to reduce Greenhouse gas emissions to levels found previously in 1990 by 2014 which would be 6 years ahead of schedule.

With college attenders increasing in numbers every year the demand for higher education is great, which of course means that the students are ready to expand their mind and knowledge and there is no better way than attending a Green Friendly college for their time as a student, lets hope more big names follow these popular examples.
