The Paper Villain
In London are handed with free paper to read as they approach their local station daily. When they arrive on their destination, they will then deposit the newspaper to the first bin they see.
Because of this our landfills has been increasing lately. In my previous post I have mentioned some ways on how to recycle papers and newspapers. Other people made it even better. The Functionality group created the Paper Villain. The paper villian consists of papers which are made into canopy in which people can use for shade. The idea is very unique and eco friendly. The paper villain is one example on how to decrease our landfills and save our planet.

Everyday in London, legion commuters are handed free papers as they approach
their local station. They squash onto the tube and into a world of current affairs and gossip,
they arrive at their stop, they exit the station and they deposit their newspaper in
the first bin they encounter.
Formed from the limits of what a few concerned friends could carry, paper villain by
the functionality is a response to the temporary life of this daily read. Over 3 weeks,
17 pairs of hands individually folded 2542 traditional paper hats from an equal mix
of free papers collected in one evening. Together these paper hats formed an articulated
tensile canopy from the leftovers of our morning read for the secret garden festival.
the global shape of the paper villain was derived from a series of physical prototypes
in which gravity was allowed to naturally distort each hat into an unusual form.”
