Green Isn’t Always Good
An interesting article over at Mediapost warns consumers to be wary of companies that mislead certain labels of their goods and services, claiming these to have green qualities, when it isn’t entirely true. This is known as greenwashing and the practice is slowly becoming widespread, that it becomes a total waste of time and money. Companies spend thousands of money advertising their so-called green products, when that money would have been better off funding real green endeavors and efforts.
Mediapost provides the example of “an image of a forest on a bottle containing harmful chemicals” as just one of those which may easily mislead consumers.
