Cars May Soon Run on Watermelon

watermelon-car-by-rungue The Department of Agriculture in the USA has been working on an alternative biofuel production, with watermelon as its main source.

The research has so far concluded that it may be possible for fuel to come from this summer fruit fare because watermelons are said to contain fermentable sugar, a viable ingredient in the production of biofuel as this can be turned into ethanol.

The research however stipulates that only wasted watermelons or leftover watermelons, those that are not good enough to be sold as food in the market, be used. Meaning, we still get to enjoy this refreshing fruit without worrying it’s soon going to be depleted because of fuel use and at the same time, wastage is also reduced as a left-over watermelons may now be turned to fuel.
