Welcome to an Eco-City

Today some big news struck worldwide amongst Green Lovers, the city of Shenyang and China’s Northeastern University announced that they will be embarking on a smart city collaboration that will be improving the lifes of citizens by been more environmentally responsible. The news comes at a time when we really need some positive action like this more than ever. Especially in large cities.

Shenyang aims to be the model city for environment protection and development which will hopefully lead China into taking a bigger responsibility for citizens and businesses to be in, the aim is also to be an example for country and cities worldwide to see the positive impact a development like this can have on the planet.

This amazing collaboration will start by focusing on the advanced technology solutions that will reduce the very negative carbon emissions into the environment, it will also; manage water supplies, track food from the farm to when it is eaten, traffic and transportation management and the overall enhancement of traffic and transportation systems, not to mention all of that is only the start of the plan.

IBM, the City of Shenyang, and Northeastern University have established the Shenyang Eco-City Research Institute which will advance technology solutions that enable cities to conserve natural resources, reduce carbon emissions and create an overall healthy atmosphere. Now this is really the perfect way to go and when you think about it, the only way to go. Imagine the clean air we and future generations would be breathing in everyday if more places followed this example, it would be a better standard of living overall and truly the way to a positive brighter future for everyone.
