Green Living is a Family Affair

FamilyStudiesOf course, this is a given and we already know this. If we want change, if we want a better life, we must start green living at home. Here are easy ways to encourage and orient every member of your family to practice living a cleaner, healthier life. It’s these simple things that will help young ones grow into better, responsible citizens of the Earth.:

Teach your children how to recycle. Or donate the stuff they do not need anymore. Bring them along when you do drop off these items so that they know where this will go and for what good their deeds go to.

Teach your children to conserve energy, such as not wasting water when brushing teeth or taking a bath.

We have recently moved and had the opportunity to put some of these ideas into practice with the children. The children were excited as they started to see the seed germinate and grow. We have now enjoyed some fresh vegetables which taste earthy and fresh since harvesting them.

In addition we have specially designed cycle areas which have been fun to use. Having not been on a bike for a number of years, I felt myself getting fitter as we used the bike to and from the school.

We have changed a few things in our lives and have enjoyed doing so. As parents we need to take the lead in making a difference our environment and hopefully the children will follow and at the same time getting to know the family better.
