Greenology
Just this weekend I went to the mall and discovered the Greenology. The Ayala Malls are celebrating an eco friendly month to display art exhibits from recycling. Aside from that, I saw the unlimited things you can do with recycling.
Ayala malls combines art and environmental advocacy in Eco Art, a display of edgy art installations starting August 28 until September 11.
The exhibit is part of Ayala Malls’ Greenology Campaign. More than just a venue for leisure, Ayala malls takes a step further by bringing the green lifestyle into its furnishings, lush landscapes, interiors and outdoor art installations.
A sustainable lifestyle finds expression in Eco Art, an exhibit of quirky art installations featuring sculptures and 3D models highlighting the fundamentals of recreating in partnership with artists Alma Quinto, Pete Jimenez, Mac Valdezco and Ral Arrogante. Students from UP, UE, UST, College of St. Benilde, FEU, PWU, and Technological University of the Philippines are also part of this special event.
The art installations aim to educate the shoppers on how much garbage is consumed by using plastic, paper and other raw materials. Visual artist Alma Quinto chooses to reuse, recycle, rework and remodel as she continually explores new ideas and exciting combination’s with her artworks. Quinto says, “Recycling is a wise option because we save more resources and become kinder to our environment.”
Visual artist Mac Valdezco imagines that his artworks can move and grow. His works speak of ecological preservation and conservation.
Apart from all these things, I really enjoyed watching the brilliant works of students and how they incorporated the idea of recycling.
