Trough recycling you could lessen the amount of landfill and maintain healthy air. There has been numerous tragedies caused by landslide, typhoons and other calamities which are just works of humans. Through recycling an opting for a greener lifestyle would allow us to prevent these situations to happen.

From Igreen Spot:

“Celebrating Christmas in a sustainable way is easy to achieve with the recycled Christmas card by Johnson Banks. Hailed as the winner during the design week awards 2009, aside from a sustainable Christmas card, Johnson Banks also included in the range spare magazines that are ram-punched into Christmas trees and old posters that are used to make an envelope. In this way, you need not to throw your old newspapers and posters, thus less landfill and less carbon emission because they need not to manufacture new products intended for your Christmas cards for distribution to your friends or for sale.

If every U.S. household replaced its TVs, VCR/DVD player and phones with ENERGY STAR models, we would save 25 billion pounds of greenhouse gas emissions a year.

To save energy and money, install compact fluorescent light bulbs in the most frequently used lights in your house: the kitchen ceiling lights, family room lamps and outdoor lights.

If every American household used energy-efficient lights in those places, we would save close to $8 billion each year in energy costs. Find CFL bulbs at Circuit City stores.
