Flu Buster: Wash Your Hands Regularly

hand_washingWhen the colder months come it, it also means one other thing: FLU SEASON. There are many ways to avoid getting sick. Many are advised to get flu shots or drink lots of vitamin supplements. But one of the easiest way to prevention is actually a very simple task that we must be doing everyday — hand-washing.

The CDC or Center for Disease Control even recommends we do this frequently to help curb spreading of flu and other diseases. The downside to hand washing, as some people may have complained, is that the soap makes the hands drier.

I say, it depends on the kind of soap you use. Not every soap carry the same ingredient and some are even green, natural, or eco-friendly. Look for one with oatmeal or vitamin E, or perhaps even wheat germ oil in the ingredients. Or those that are manufactured with the right PH-balance (so that it doesn’t harm your skin).

If you don’t like to use soap, there are several liquid hand wash available and they come in many types. They are so much more economical than a bar of soap, actually. Look for those with natural ingredients or non-toxic ingredients, to be on the safe and healthy side. Be wary of those labeled “anti-bacterial” as they may contain harsh chemicals. And as usual, be aware of the PH balance. What exactly is it, this PH balance? It’s how much acidic or non-acidic the product is and it’s important if you want to maintain good skin.
