Ford to Make Use of Wheat Straw Reinforced Plastic
Going in the right direction, Ford company has announced that they will be using wheat straw-reinforced plastic for the 2010 Ford Flex. The plastic actually contains 20% wheat straw and bio filler, which helps reduce petroleum usage and CO2 emissions.
They will also be using soy-based polyurethane foams for the car’s seat cushions.
They may also possibly use the same wheat plastic material for their console bins, trays and door trim panels as well as armrest.
This is indeed going in the right direction. So, kudos to Ford for pushing to go green!
