The Most Eco-Friendly Homes In The World

ewok_entranceConstruction Management Degrees has come up with their list of ten of the eco-friendliest houses ever built in the world. The choices are pretty interesting. Except for one or two though, why do eco-houses always have to look extra-ordinary and whimsical? I don’t know a lot about construction but I’m guessing this oddity has a lot to do with the way the house becomes eco-efficient.

My favorite would have to be House #4, which looks like any other house (what can I say? I like the familiarity of a traditional house!) Except that with its really huge floor space, the total cost to maintain its utility service only comes up to $350 a month! That is amazing!!

You can peruse through their top ten list on this site, and get some inspiration for your dream houses as well.

Thanks to Elizabeth for the tip!

I love the picture of this ewok house, not sure if I would want to live in it though! To be honest I agree and think that most eco homes are a bit wacky, I like traditional style ones that are eco friendly. I have a friend who lives on a boat, her impact on the enviroment is very low. Or have a look at these houses for sale in cornwall, they have all the eco bells and whistles and look normal!
