Holiday Safety Tips…Protect Your Home, Protect The Earth
For all the fun and festivities we are going to enjoy and celebrate this holiday season, let’s not forgot to keep everything safe. Here are a few reminders for doing that:
- Make sure that holiday decorations, the electrical ones especially, are in good working order. Have the wires fixed if they are not.
- Pick decors that are non combustible and fire-retardant.
- Never load your extension cords.
- Always remember to unplug the lights and other electrical decors when you go to sleep or leaving the house.
- Keep kids away from all of these and keep kids away from candles and matches.
- Make sure your smoke alarms work, and if not, have an electrician fix this, especially before a big, big party at hour house.
- Christmas trees should be sturdy. Make sure that this doesn’t tip over.
- If you are using a live tree, water it often as this while keep it from drying off and becoming a fire hazard.
- Keep candles away from live trees. Keep it off fireplaces, too.
- Dispose of your trees properly after the holidays.
Enjoy a safe Christmas!
