Things To Do With Gift Wrappers Post-Holiday

Screen shot 2009-12-23 at 7.30.25 AMYou've opened and unwrapped your gifts. You've collected all of the wrappers for recycling, as we've suggested. So what do you actually do with them after the holidays? We've got some nifty suggestions below:

Use them as book covers. If you have old books lying around, use the gift wrappers to cover and protect it. I know this may look childish and so high school, but you would appreciate the range colors once the books are displayed on your shelf. It will sort of give your library this festive facelift, making the place look more alive.

Use them to line the cabinet shelves. Place then inside the closet shelves to protect your clothes from the wood and the paint that can sometimes leave it smelling bad. Lining the cabinets with gift wrappers also lends a nice touch of color. You can do the same with desk drawers. It just makes everything neat and spiffy.

Use this for scrapbooking. You will have collected enough pictures and mementos for the holidays and it would be great to put them all together in one family scrapbook. The wrapping papers will help spruce this up. Make use of it as your scrapbook pages' background, borders and such.

Use for your child's school projects. I'm sure your kids will have plenty of scrapbooking and other art projects to do. Instead of buying the materials, you can use these well-designed wrappers instead.

Recycle for next year. You can stock gift boxes and store them for next year's use, of course. This way, you don't have to buy new ones. Just don't forget that you have all of these used wrappings come next holiday season.
