Starkbucks’ Shared Planet

I love Starbucks Coffee and I love it even more when they make it a conscious effort to help the Earth, by encouraging its customers to observe a green lifestyle.

The company has recently launched its Shared Planet program, which essentially means that Starbucks is committed to bringing green living practices into actual realities. This practices extend to how they purchase their supplies, keep it in store, develop it, run their business and let the community of Starbucks drinkers also practice the same concept.

I like this because we all know that Starbucks, as a really big corporation with franchises in almost every street corner, can be one of the top contributors of wastes in the face of the Earth. While that can be a really bad thing, at least they are making something out of changing that, by acting on it and creating less of an impact.

For instance, Starbucks is going to offer discounts to consumers who will opt to bring their earth-friendly coffee cups, rather than use the one at the store. They are also planning on making their cups 100% recyclable and will be developing the technology for that, which will then be good to go by the year 2015.

The company also follow a very comprehensive recycling program that will curb wastes not only from its staff, but as well as its consumers.

All over the stores, Starbucks has information campaigns that say their coffees are grounded, harvested and planted economically and in the most earth friendly way possible.

You can learn more about this via the Shared Planet website.
