Eco-friendly Way of Ridding Fleas
I had the horror of finding out my dogs had fleas yesterday and I wasted no time cleaning up after them. Because of the weather is now warmer, flea infestation should be very common. There are plenty of solutions to help minimize or eradicate this completely. I was able to try some of these but I will now be trying a green solution that a friend has recommended.
The first one is a spray solution. I only need to use lemon juice and water for this. Thinly slice some lemon and put it in a container. Pour some water on it and let it sit for a couple of days. After which, transfer the water into a container that has a spritzer. Now, you can use this regularly and spray on your dogs. The lemon helps resist it and makes their coat shinier as well. Use this for carpets and sofas, too.
The dog’s bed must also be regularly washed and cleaned. Use baking powder with salt for this, mixed with your regular soap and wanter for washing. The baking powder should keep the bed very fresh all the time.
The dog’s area, or where he usually stays to rest, must also be regularly cleaned. You can also use the same lemon solution, but if you want a stronger one, you can spray the area with alcohol first to disinfect it.
Buy organic pet shampoos for your dogs, and choose one with tea tree oil ingredient as this will greatly help ward off fleas. Give your dogs a bath every week this season.
