Dairy farming improvements
Generally anything to do with meat processing or dairy farming has long being a topic which causes some serious debates on both sides. Animal rights activists complain about the treatment of cows and other animals, while the defending side deny or claim its simply nature. However, finally there has been some changes made which should appeal to both sides. Canada has announced an Eco-Dairy due to launch shortly and promising a lot of positive differences from previous outlets.
The much anticipated farm is due to open in May and already cows and chickens have begun producing milk and eggs which will be sold in the market. Animal lovers will be pleased with the knowledge that cows and chickens are able to run free around the barns and can actually choose where they wish to be milked.
Some other excellent Eco features include the preservation of rainwater which is collected from the barns roofs, the robotic milking machine is more powerful and uses a lot less energy, these are both excellent features for the planet. A dairy farm is a busy place where a lot of energy is used on a daily basis so this should make a lot of difference.
Children can also get involved and learn about some of the features, as well as the life of a cow with guided tours and petting zoo’s so they can get up and close with the animals. This really is a positive step forward for animals and our environment so lets hope we can have more changes for those who run a similar practice and soon.
