Puma goes Eco

Its a big day for the planet as we know it when a huge manufacturing giant goes Eco! Today is no exception with the amazing news that popular sportswear favorite Puma has decided to ditch the typical cardboard shoe boxes you receive your sneakers in for a more environmentally friendly bag. A decision like this is just the step forward we need to really make some serious changes, this is could potentially save millions of tree’s annually and even convince other popular manufacturers to follow suit.

The Clever Little Bag is the new title for the Puma packaging which is made from rPET. It is designed to be used as a take home bag for customers which they can then use again, perfect for recycling purposes. The message is quite clear and positive from Puma, this idea will truly benefit everybody with 65% of paper consumption due to be saved on a yearly basis with this new packaging.

The new packaging was announced in London this week with the final results to be released to the public in 2011. There is a lot in store sure to please the Puma consumers and Eco environmentalists coming up and all of which is pushing them in a positive step.

For shoppers and consumers we already had the successful recyclable bags which immediately cut out the excess waste brought on by paper and plastic bags. Now if more popular retail giants where to offer a similar package like Puma the end result could be extremely positive for the planet!
