Happy Earth Day 2010 But…
So today is Earth Day 2010. Now while we all know that this is the day that we all have to consider the harmful effects our actions have done on nature, it is also a time where we should start brainstorming ideas for a better tomorrow, not for us but for the next generation.
We hear the common things about being eco-friendly. Recycling, conservation and limiting our waste to renewable resources are what we are most commonly familiar with. But the thing is, being eco-friendly or “green” is not a one-time gig. It means starting at some point and hopefully more people will be open to the idea now.
The ill-effects of our wrongdoings are evident. Warm to dangerous weather, earthquakes, animal extinction and so on are happening right in front of our very eyes. Hence, while we all cheer for Earth Day, cheering is not the only thing. We must do our part to act and take it by heart.
Otherwise, Earth Day will not be any different from a usual celebration or party which we look forward to each year without truly grasping the meaning of how we can make the world the place which is suitable and longer lasting for mankind.
