Virgin America Tops Eco-friendly Airlines List
Virgin America Airlines can add another “green” feather to its cap after Greenopia added the prestigious airlines to its list of environmental friendly airlines. They are followed closely by Alaska Airlines and Continental airlines where the basis for rating were based on various eco-friendly factors that include:
- Fuel Consumption
- Recycling Programs
- Organic and Sustainable Food Items Served on flights
Virgin’s average fleet age was only two years old, as compared to Alaska and Continental, which were six and nine respectively.
