Eco-friendly Burial Options at Asian Funeral Expo
Hearing about eco-friendly burials is nothing new but as far as which green options for proper eco-friendly burials are concerned, a Swedish scientist may have something new here. It is called the “Freeze Dry” burial, a new eco-friendly burial alternative also known as the “promession technique”.
The “freeze dry” technique is somewhat similar to cremation. This new eco-friendly burial is set to make its debut in South Korea and Sweden. The corpse is super-frozen with liquid nitrogen and shaken until the phrase, ‘dust unto dust’ truly applies. Heavy metals like mercury are filtered out of the crystallized body particles and buried in biodegradable containers that nourish the soil under a plant or tree in a memorial park.
After six to eighteen months, the atomized particles from promession break down, while buried bodies may require decades to fully decompose.
