Global Green’s Millennium Awards
Eco-Activism is here and growing stronger everyday. Celebrities came out in full power on Saturday at the Millennium Awards. It was the 14th year for this special ceremony to take place. Its a good time of year for some Hollywood big names to spread awareness about issues close to their heart, and which currently effect our planet. The more people that are aware of these problems the better for the cause.
Irish actor and long time environmentalist Pierce Brosnan was just one of the names attending. Pierce and Keely Shay Smith showed their new campaign for savethewhales. This excellent campaign is all about promoting awareness for these stunning creatures who face many serious threats. You can donate, adopt a whale, spread the word, or even buy some items and it will all go towards helping the whales! Lets hope a ban is soon put on commercial whaling, the sooner the better.
Actress Rhona Mitra talked about the recent oil spill and the consistent need for volunteers. She also spoke about ways to have a greener future and shared some information about our planet and the animals who need help.
It wasn’t all just about awards and talks however. Fashion was also under the spotlight with many fabulous dresses and suits all Eco-Friendly and designed from natural materials. The entire event was memorable in the hearts of activists and animal rights organizations everywhere. Events like this really help to educate people to be more aware of our planet and to fight the cause!
