Recycling Pets

It’s not only garbage that’s filling up and overpopulating the earth. A number of abandoned and abused dogs and cats are crowding animal shelters, when they can be raised in loving homes. Shelters are in danger of closing down because it’s no longer feasible to maintain them and with it’s shut down, these furry pets are most likely be put to death. It’s not only an issue of overpopulation, it’s also an issue of animal rights.

If you are planning on getting a puppy, please consider going to animal shelters first and adopt there instead. Some of the animals there only need love and care to become better pets again. Adoption is also less expensive and you will be helping out shelters a great deal.

If you are an owner of a pet, please consider having them spayed or neutered if you are not planning on breeding or if you no longer plan on taking care of more pets than what you already have. Help curb overpopulation by not adding to the consensus. Lots of veterinarians perform this procedure so ask your dog doctor about it.

Take an active part in having puppy mills or kitty mills banned. They only breed for profit and do not really take care of these animals well. They are also the number one contributor to over population.

Taking care of pets is taking care of a living being. They are a joy to have in the house but a bane to the society if left unmanaged.
