A Good Use For Real Fur
I’ve never owned fur in my life nor dream of having one. But I was made to understand that this is an investment, something which, if you own one, you can wear all the time and even pass on as an heirloom. Unfortunately, it’s the kind of clothing that is frowned upon by many people, as it harms and kills animals. Real fur is from real animal, as you should know, and that’s why it’s very expensive.
With the emergence of groups against fur, like PETA, and with many celebrities turning against wearing fur, most fur owners no longer proudly wear this item. As it is, it stays in the closet, hardly getting some use.
But thanks to initiatives by the Humane Society Org, fur owners who can stand parting with their prized possessions, can donate these to the organization instead.
So, where will these donated fur coats go? According to this site, the fur coats will be used in wildlife rehabilitation center across the United States. These donate fur coats will be cut down in appropriate sizes to become bedding, blankets and a comfortable sleep surface of animals like raccoons, bobcats, rabbits, squirrels and the like.
Apparently, this should help with their restlessness, as they tend to rest and sleep better. Not unlike human beings at all, huh?
I actually like this initiative as it is a way of paying back. If you have any old fur lying around, or if you plan on giving up fur for good, you can check the address at this site and see what you can do about donating fur.
