Gifting Without Gifts This Christmas
Thanks to many green efforts from different organizations, gifting without actual gifts is very possible, and very much friendlier to Mother Earth. There are no wasted boxes or wrappers, and you’re giving something that benefits a lot of causes.
1. Check with My Nature Gifts for a list of causes that allows you to dedicate pledges, plant a tree or adopt an animal under their name. The person you’re gifting this to would receive something from the mail and it is up to them to continue with the good cause, usually, after a year.
2. Gift someone with a one-month or a year-long membership fee to a yoga class, cooking class or a gym class. It’s healthy and enriching, and it is so much better if you both do it together. It makes for great bonding moments, too.
3. Gift your talents. Do you know how to paint? Present someone with a lovely piece of artwork you did yourself, so that they can decorate this at their homes. Do you have beautiful voice? Offer to sing a set of songs for someone on a special occasion. It’s one of the most sincere gifts to gift your loved ones.
4. Gift with gift cards. Lots of stores offer gift cards. iTune gift cards, for instance, would be perfect among those techie teens.
5. Bring someone to a concert or a special event. This may not even be done right away. You can prebook tickets to a concert of your friend’s favorite rock band. I’m sure this gesture will be so much appreciated.
