Detoxing After The Holiday Binging

You’re not the only one who ate too much last Christmas. And there’s more feasting in the coming weeks, when we welcome New Year. A few indulgences is fine here and there, especially since this is the time for celebration and merry-making. But after this is all over? It’s time to eat the proper diet and detox all those holiday sugar and fat.

1. Exercise and sweat it out. There’s no easy way to lose all the holiday weight. You have to earn it and earn it by physically exertion. Commit to spending time at the gym and do cardio exercises, which helps trim down the fat and cholesterol you’ve amassed during Christmas feasts. Cool done with yoga exercises, too. Or detox by going to the sauna, which also helps with muscle stress and tension.

2. Sleep, sleep, sleep. Too much partying may have deprived you of it. Your body needs to recover.

3. Drink water. Water is the best detoxifier for anything. Wine, soda and other fruit juices may have been your main drinking staple during the holidays. Now it’s time for water.

4. Go back to eating right. Ditch the sweets now, you had too much cake during the holidays. You also probably had too much beef and red meat, so go with green and leafy for the next few weeks.

5. Take your vitamin supplements. You should have actually been taking this even during the holidays, to keep your resistance. Getting colds is rampant this time of the year, and you should fight this by keeping your body’s resistance in tip top shape.
