Reduce Your Carbon Footprint Inside The Home

Most of our waking hours are spent inside the home. Therefore, comfort, clean air, and warmth are essential ingredients to a happy home life. Many of us are un-aware of how harmful ordinary appliances are to the atmosphere. A big refrigerator could be draining more energy than originally believed. Start to look more closely and begin to reduce carbon footprints.

The first thing to do is carry out checks on your older appliances. Remember that its only recently that an Eco Friendly lifestyle has become easier, so chances are anything from years ago is far from Green.  If your energy bill remains consistently high than its time for a change, perhaps beginning with a an energy efficient freezer.

Regular washing machines are a big worry. Not only do they use an excess amount of water, but they also drain to much energy. The Eco equivalent could save you enough water to fill up to 3 swimming pools during each use, and some extra money to purchase more worthy equipment that is beneficial to your home.

The insulation is the next area to focus on. Particular during damp, wet seasons. The average home is poorly ventilated which leads to an increase in heating bills. Worn out parts can easily be replaced, just look out for the proper equipment and be safe. Regular inspections should be made in case of damaged and worn out materials. Just a few minutes of your time occasionally can save money, the environment and reduce your carbon footprint to a healthy amount!
