Healthy Organic Desserts

Between breakfast, lunch and dinner dessert can easily be forgotten about. On special occasions however, or simply days when you can’t get enough of appetizers and a sweet tooth dessert is essential. It’s not all about sugar, cake, and quite fattening recipes though. There are tons of healthier choices for the whole family, organic or otherwise.

Yogurt is first on the list. Always a popular choice and very healthy when made with the right ingredients. Organic yogurt is readily  available or can be made a home using mix, milk and an assorted selection of fruits. Be sure to use glass jars and avoid plastic materials. Sterilize the glass thoroughly before use and be creative.

Chocolate and organic cake feature frequently on menu’s in restaurants. Like its predecessor they can both be made at home. Remember to purchase organic eggs, milk, cream if required. Depending on if your making vanilla or chocolate there is wide range of organic chocolate chips or vanilla extracts. Then it is just a matter of creating it to your own taste preference.

Kids seem to be crazy on Popsicle’s and it has become a popular choice for adults in the warmer months. When making your own begin with recyclable or re-usable containers, this is very important. Fresh fruits such as lemon, watermelon or pineapple will leave you all wanting more of these delicious flavors. Blend appropriately, stir and pour very gently into the container. This is necessary to avoid any spillage. Enjoy your desserts and remember to think healthy and be creative!
