The Green Carpet Trend
As award season approached quickly in Hollywood all eyes will be steadily focused on the arrivals, and fashion addicts will want to know who is wearing what. A growing trend in Hollywood known as the Green Carpet is all about Eco Friendly celebrities who use their fame to promote awareness, specifically when it comes to fashion. They will often walk down red carpets wearing an outfit made entirely out of hemp and other Eco alternatives.
The latest celebrity making headlines with fashion is Italian film producer, and wife of actor Colin Firth, Livia Giuggioli. Known as an environmentalist and the proud owner of an Eco store, Livia also writes for Vogue where she keeps an eye on other names in the entertainment industry who follow this trend. Some of Guiggiol’s past outfits have been made from sustainable silk, hybrid, natural indigo and organic cotton.
Hayden Panettiere is one of the youngest animal activists and green followers around. Aside from her fight for animal rights she has also appeared at awards seasons and special events in naturally produced dresses, all in the name of the planet!
It is not just the women who we need to look out for at the red carpet. Celebrity men such as Leonardo Dicaprio and Woody Harrelson have long fought against global warming by insisting on living as Eco Friendly as possible. This also extends to their wardrobe where Harrelson quite famously wears pure hemp in practically all of his clothes! Check out this years 2011 oscars for hopefully a large green carpet following!
