Oscars 2011 Green Carpet Updates
The Oscars 2011 took place in Los Angeles last night and by all accounts they were a roaring success. Hollywood youth and Hollywood royalty where out celebrating and toasting to all that made movies great from the previous year. All eyes where on the winners of course but there are two names which stood out for a better reason!
Yes Colin Firth was a big winner last night in the eyes of the academy, fellow actors, and his loyal fans, but to environmentalists eveywhere Firth and his wife Livia once again deserve praise for their spectacular efforts with their chosen outfits on the big night.
No strangers to Green Friendly fashion the married twosome walked down the red carpet in style. Livia was proudly wearing an upcycled dress with every single detail made from recycled items right down to the zips. Firth was no different with all his jewelry made from the first fair minded fair trade ecologically certified gold jewelery collection. These two certainly sparkled for all the right reasons at yesterdays Celeb packed ceremony.
Colin and Livia spoke out after the awards hoping that a stronger emphasis would be placed on people in the public eye choosing more Eco Friendly outfits. Hopefully this year will be the beginning of a big change in Hollywood. Remember that its easier to have a stronger influence on others when you are in the public eye. I can’t think of a better place to get some Green action than with those in the entertainment industry!
