Telecommuting isn’t always an option but for self employed, or company owners considering it, just think of all the advantages. The daily commute is just the beginning. The heavy traffic and stressful journey first thing in the morning leaves workers tired before work even starts. At home there is no distance involved, no petrol, to toxins released into the atmosphere. Just a healthier way to start the day.
Companies can save money for the office space and furniture. Plus with less people there is will be a lot less energy and electricity consumed. With the internet is has become a lot easier to communicate from a distance, plus it eliminates the need for letters. When working at home be sure to always e-mail and avoid printing on non organic paper if possible!
Many people who work from home claim its a lot less stressful and easier to balance a home and work life. There may even be time to do other things, for example become more active in the community and stand up for all things green in your city! Productivity is easier to come by once stress disappears so get out there and play your part for the earth!
