Flea Busters For The Summer
One thing I dislike about summer is that fleas start to come out and infest my dogs. The quickest solution is to introduce them to Frontline. It’s this flea medication that has to injected on them and it’s supposed to last them a month or so.
But there are other people who don’t want to introduce medicine or other chemically processed stuff on their dogs too much. From them, I found out other quick solutions to get rid of the fleas:
1. BORAX. This is safe remover for odor. It’s usually found in laundry aisle at the grocery stores. The components in borax can kill fleas effectively. You just need to sprinkle this in carpets, rugs, couches or areas where your dogs are and then let it sit for a while. Remove this with a vacuum cleaner and the area would be fresh and free of flea. Be careful not to let kids reach or touch this though.
2. FLEA SHAMPOO. Fortunately, there are plenty of choices when it comes to flea shampoo these days and you can buy one that is organically made, using non-toxic materials. Ingredients like lemongrass, peppermint and cedarwood are usually common in flea shampoos, so look for these.
3. GROOMING. Regularly groom your pets. When I say regular, I mean everyday. You have to comb their coat using a flea comb. This works to remove those loosened dirt and fleas trapped in their hair. Use dog powder as well to give them a nice scent and freshness.
Just like with people, a dog that is well-groomed should be nice-looking and clean.
