Salt As Cleaning Agent

Did you know that the very common and easily available table salt can be used as an effective cleaning agent for the home?

The salt’s texture makes it perfect for scouring and scrubbing. Many cosmetics and beauty brands have their own version of salts scrubs in the market, which cost a little more, when you can make use of the basic table salt or cooking salt for this.

Salt is best used for cleaning artificial flowers. Put this inside the paper bag and then sprinkle salt in it. Shake the bag well and the salt will loosen up the dirt, which will be easier to wipe off the petals and leaves.

Instead of using a scrubbing pad, you can use salt to remove stains on glassware. Salts can’t damage the surface of glass, unlike scrubbing pads which can cause abrasions. In the same way, this can also be used for greasy pots and pans, as well as teacups and mugs.

While cooking, grease can splatter all over the stove or grill. The longer it sticks, the harder it will be to clean this. Put salt as soon as you see the grease splatter. Let it sit for at least an hour. Wiping it off the surface would be a cinch as the salt will absorb whatever is on the surface.

Use salt literally as a salt scrub for your skin. For about two minutes rub this on your hands or legs. You will see that your skin is smoother afterwards.
