5.7-magnitude quake hits New Ireland region, Papua New Guinea
SYDNEY (Xinhua) – An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale jolted New Ireland region, Papua New Guinea at 10:46: 50 GMT on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 49.40 km, was initially determined to be at 5.9694 degrees south latitude and 153.2456 degrees east longitude.
