Once In A While, Take A Beauty Break

Most women are aware that many of the beauty products they use come with chemicals. Although there has been an increased awareness of the use of products that are more organic, and therefore, less chemically processed, the skin can still benefit from being make-up free from time to time.

Once in a while, it’s good to take a break from using any beauty products to help with keeping the skin healthier. Taking a break also helps a woman re-evaluate the products being used, particularly when there are a few breakouts or irritation on her skin.

Sometimes, the face gets really dry because of the products used. If a woman feels that her face is stretched or tight, such as with using a cleanser,  it’s actually not a the cleanser doing its work, but rather, its the skin losing all its natural moisture. Take a few days off and avoid using the cleanser then, and allow the skin to return to its normal state. Perhaps this is also a good time to also switch to a different type of products use, as doing so can only bring the same effects.

Using moisturizers help keep the face supple and lessens the development of wrinkles.  But, as most women will attest,  using too much of it can also cause pimples, acne and other skin breakouts. Skip some days with the application or moisturizers, just to see if the breakouts lessen. If this happens, then maybe it’s an indication that the moisturizer isn’t compatible with the woman’s skin type and it’s best to replace or find another one more suitable.

Primers with make-up application helps set it as well as keep the make-up lasting throughout the day. But if a woman is just going out for coffee on a warm Saturday afternoon, maybe using primer as base can be skipped and just instead, stick with a regular powder and lip gloss.

Allowing the skin to breathe from time to time. Doing so will help the skin retain or reclaim its natural properties, thus, keeping it healthier.
