If you’re the type to develop colds or cough every now and then because of the winter cold this season, taking too many drugs can leave you woozy and even less energetic. Sometimes, really, all it takes is just a lot of rest and vitamin C. And perhaps even a dose of natural remedy. Here are some simple and easy ways to help curb winter sickness or prevent it. The ingredients are mostly found in your kitchen, and they are a whole lot cheaper, too!
- Drink lots of fresh orange juice, especially during breakfast, to boost your immune system and prevents development of sore throat, cough and colds. If you’re stomach cannot take this due to acidity, you can also take in Vitamin C via supplements.
- Eat your greens, especially vegetables like spinach and broccoli, as they are rich in Vitamin K and prevents infection from erupting.
- Chew on almonds and other nuts in between meals. Snacking on these will give you an additional energy boosts, which you might need to get through all those winter celebrations. These are also anti-oxidants, which helps when you’ve eaten a lot of holiday food, and your body needs to flush out toxins.
- Boil thyme in a pint of water. The thyme must be about two to three tablespoonsful, and then let it cool for a few minutes. Add a five tablespoons of honey, or as so desired, and then drink this every few hours. This can be placed in the fridge for up to a month.
Keep these in mind so that you won’t spend Christmas and the rest of the holidays sick in bed.
