Save Electricity Consumption with GreenSwitch
Have you heard of GreenSwitch? Before today, I never even knew something like this existed, but now that I do, I think it’s pretty cool.
GreenSwitch – a new concept developed by Magnum Energy Solutions – helps home owners reduce energy consumption as much as a whopping 25% by using wireless technology that turns electrical outlets and light switches off to help save money and power.
According to the website, 1.32 lbs of carbon dioxide are generated for each kilowatt hour of electricity that is produced and the average home uses almost 12,000 kilowatt hours of electricity annually. A 20% reduction in electricity equals a reduction of 3168 lbs of carbon dioxide per household. The website has a few awesome videos (including one featuring Ed Begley, Jr., star of Planet Green’s “Living with Ed”) that you can view to get an idea of how it works and how easy it is to operate.
The hospitality industry has reportedly been using GreenSwitch technology for years and it’s been installed in hundreds of hotels, which has reduced electricity bills from 25%-45%. It’s only recently that GreenSwitch and Magnum energy solutions have made the technology available to home owners.
If you want to check it out yourself and see how it works, the good folks at GreenSwitch will be at the Cleveland, Ohio Home & Garden Show 2009 from February 7 through February 15, so check it out!

For Central Ohio going green does not have to be hard. It can be the easiest thing you do today. You may wonder why it is necessary. The fact is that it is necessary because you want your children, or your grandchildren to enjoy the planet that you have so graciously been able to delight in.
