8 Ways to Reuse Spray Bottles
Plastic spray bottles are inexpensive and we often purchase products that come in them as well, so if you find yourself with a few empties around the house, don’t throw them away – below are some tips for recycling them for other uses! Don’t forget to clean all bottles thoroughly using equal parts of vinegar and water prior to use, rinse well and label each one using a permanent marker.
• Mist your houseplants.
• Fill with vinegar and water to clean counter-tops, sinks and bathroom tile (for many more ways to use vinegar and water as a cleaning alternative, see this Eco – Friendly Tip:
Vinegar: Naturally Green).
• Mix one part hair conditioner with two parts water, shake well and use as a great detangler for hair.
• Help with the laundry by filling with water and spraying on clothes while ironing or fill a spray bottle with stain remover solution and spray on stubborn stains.
• Cool off in summer by filling a spray bottle with water and spritzing yourself (and others!) to keep cool on hot summer days or after work-outs, jogging or on the beach.
• Fill a spray bottle with white vinegar and spray directly on weeds.
• Fill the bottle with water and add a little scented oil to create your own natural air freshener.
• Recycle unusable bottles at your local recycling center.
