The African Energy Chamber (AEC) has named this year’s 20 Under 40 Energy Women Rising Stars, honoring women who are shaping Africa’s energy future. Representing the full spectrum of the industry, from oil and gas to renewables, these women have emerged as leaders driving innovation, empowerment, and sustainability across the continent.
The honorees represent both public and private companies and have demonstrated leadership that extends beyond their professional roles to uplift communities and mentor future generations.
Profiles of the 20 rising stars
- Annie Cyrielle Okouma, SLB – Gabon, progressed from trainee laboratory technician to production chemistry engineer, applying her chemical engineering expertise to offshore operations.
- Ashanti Kutala Mbanga, SANEDI – South Africa, leads the country’s energy efficiency labelling program and advocates for women and youth in the sector.
- Carolina Ana da Graça, Chevron – Angola, a business analyst and award-winning researcher, focuses on maritime cybersecurity in transportation planning.
- Chisom Okolie, Udo Udoma & Belo-Osagie – Nigeria, advises multinational clients on complex energy transactions and champions women in business law.
- Elisangela Neto Fernandes, SLB – Angola, manages Surface Production Systems across Angola and Central East Africa after rising through technical and leadership roles.
- Fiona Magomere, Kenya Power & Lighting Company – Kenya, promotes sustainability, STEM mentorship, and clean energy access.
- Hunadi Nkabonwa Mahlanyane, Eskom – South Africa, oversees coal and civil operations and plays a central role in the state utility.
- Jakobina Junias, Amperra Charging Company – Namibia, pioneers sustainable EV solutions and environmental innovation.
- Jesupelumi Ajibola, SLB – Cameroon, petroleum engineer with international experience, leads training and service delivery initiatives.
- Joy Nancy Ogechi, Kenya Power & Lighting Company – Kenya, manages energy projects enhancing healthcare, infrastructure, and socio-economic productivity.
- Justina Erastus, Youth in Oil and Gas Summit – Namibia, advocates for youth inclusion and empowerment in the energy sector.
- Kavenamuua Kgosiemang, SLB – Namibia, manages well operations and reporting critical to sustainable oilfield development.
- Keleadile Ruda, Women in Energy – Botswana, solar PV specialist mentoring women and youth while leading projects from design to commissioning.
- Lydia Kapangila, Africa Youths in Energy Network – South Africa, drives collaboration, sustainable growth, and youth empowerment across the continent.
- Mariah Lucciano-Gabriel, Asharami Energy – Nigeria, heads Integrated Gas Ventures and promotes innovation and cross-functional leadership.
- Nancy Murithi, Kenya Association of Manufacturers – Kenya, advances energy efficiency and climate policy while training and mentoring organizations and youth.
- Nisia Ingles Pinto, SLB – Angola, specializes in cementing operations and ensures safety and reliability in drilling.
- Ololade Olubi, Oando Energy Resources – Nigeria, leads project economics and strategic development for upstream operations.
- Rana Badi, TotalEnergies – Libya, drives CSR initiatives and sustainability programs using her expertise in communications and digital transformation.
