Nigeria’s push for production growth

Nigeria, one of Africa’s top oil producers, is addressing production decline by ramping up exploration and maximizing existing output. International operators are boosting investment, including ExxonMobil’s $1.5 billion plan to revitalize the Usan deepwater oilfield, Shell subsidiary SNEPCo’s $5 billion Conga North project, and TotalEnergies’ $550 million non-associated gas project with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company.

With a target of attracting $30 billion in oil and $5 billion in gas investments by 2029, Nigeria is building a strong project pipeline. Companies like Adelaar Energy are vital in providing services that align projects with national goals of increased output, reduced emissions, and expanded energy access.

The role of collaboration and innovation

Industry leaders emphasize that Africa’s path to energy security lies in collaboration between operators and service providers. According to Tomás C. Gerbasio, Strategy and Business Development Director of the African Energy Chamber, “Companies such as Adelaar Energy stand at the intersection of the continent’s oil, gas and energy industries, supporting projects through technology-driven solutions. As Africa strives to make energy poverty history, these solutions will prove highly valuable as countries balance operational efficiency with sustainability.”

Orife’s presence at African Energy Week 2025 underscores the critical role of consultancy firms in advancing Africa’s energy future, forging partnerships, and unlocking long-term industry growth.
