Jack Bauer and 24 Go Green
Executives have decided to take the hit show, 24, to the next level by committing to cut down on the amount of fuel used during filming to make the show more environmentally friendly, launching the show as the first “carbon neutral” TV production.
It’s been reported that execs have already hired consultants to monitor carbon dioxide output, staff on the set are driving biodiesel fueled trucks and using biodiesel generators and motion monitors have been installed in bathrooms and kitchens on- set to make the lights more efficient, all in a bid to make 24 the greenest show on network television.
Howard Gordon, executive producer of 24, said going green won’t have a negative impact on the explosive plot lines of the show:
“If we’ve needed a car chase, we’ve had a car chase. Our obligation is first and foremost to the fans. If we have budget cuts and need to save money then we’ll have fewer car crashes.”
